    The VDAB started their journey transitioning from running applications in VMs to containers in 2022. The leading drives were: - Pave the way to microservices, DDD, EDA - Expand Devops practices (CI/CD and QA) - Flexible transition to Cloud - Reduce VM sprawl - In 2024, about 502 applications were spread across 8 virtual OpenShift clusters running on VMs. The desire grew to consolidate and have the same level of flexibility for the underlying hypervisor, thus began our adventure to replace the underlying baremetal hypervisors with OpenShift, running OpenShift Virtualization and begin our migration path.
