Washington D.C. Red Hat User Group
03/26/2026 | 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM | McLean, VA | United States
Event overview:
Red Hat® User Group (RHUG) events offer a unique opportunity for Red Hat technology users to gather and discover solutions to IT challenges with subject matter experts & peers. Join the next RHUG to network and explore cutting-edge solutions for IT modernization. Don’t miss this opportunity to transform your IT services while enjoying great food and building connections with industry professionals.
As infrastructure scales, the traditional "package-by-package" management model often leads to the silent killer of stability: configuration drift. With the arrival of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 10, a new paradigm has emerged. Image Mode allows architects to treat the entire operating system as a versioned, container-native artifact, bringing the speed of DevOps to the foundational layer of the data center.
In this session, we will dive deep into how to deploy and maintain a truly immutable operating system that is compliant from the first boot. We will explore how to use familiar container-native tools to build bootable RHEL images and how Red Hat Satellite acts as the command center for distributing these images at scale while maintaining strict security baselines.
What You Will Learn:
| • | The Shift to Immutability: Why RHEL 10 Image Mode is the future of reducing operational "noise" and eliminating drift. |
| • | Building for Compliance: How to integrate STIG and CIS hardening directly into your Containerfile for "compliant-by-default" deployments. |
| • | Satellite as the Source of Truth: Managing the lifecycle, registry distribution, and auditing of image-based hosts via Red Hat Satellite. |
| • | Rapid Recovery: Leveraging atomic rollbacks to restore a known-good state in seconds, not hours. |
Who Should Attend?
This session is designed for Linux administrators, security engineers, and infrastructure architects looking to modernize their deployment pipelines and simplify the path to an automated, secure, and immutable environment.
