Automating Patching and Compliance with Red Hat Satellite hands-on workshop
Tuesday, 23 June 2026 | 9:00 AM
Red Hat office | Canberra
Overview
Managing large-scale infrastructure requires a proactive approach to security, maintenance, and compliance. This Workshop is a hands-on technical session designed to show you how to conquer your most critical infrastructure pain points by combining the lifecycle management power of Red Hat Satellite with the orchestration capabilities of the Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform (AAP).
Throughout this lab-driven workshop, attendees will break away from manual, time-consuming systems management and explore an end-to-end automated environment. You will see how to leverage Ansible playbooks and the AAP Web UI to audit systems, roll out patches, execute major operating system upgrades, and integrate smart remediation workflows using Red Hat Insights—all while keeping your business applications online.
What You'll Learn
This workshop dives directly into real-world customer scenarios and technical workflows. By the end of this session, you will know how to:
- Automate Compliance & Vulnerability Scans: Use Ansible Automation Platform to trigger and analyse OpenSCAP client scans against targeted host groups, evaluating them against benchmarks like PCI-DSS and DISA-STIG.
- Streamline Patch & Package Management: Efficiently manage life cycle environments (Dev, QA, Prod) and automate the deployment of critical patches across your enterprise fleet.
- Convert from CentOS/Oracle Linux to RHEL: Confidently execute a smooth, automated system migration from CentOS or Oracle Linux to fully supported Red Hat Enterprise Linux using the Convert2RHEL utility and copy-on-write storage snapshots.
- Implement Smart Remediation with Red Hat Insights: Connect your workshop environment to the Red Hat Portal to discover, explore, and automatically remediate hidden infrastructure vulnerabilities using predictive analytics
