Lab 1: AgentOps in Production: AI Observability on OpenShift.

Lab Details

Workshop Title: AgentOps in Production: AI Observability on OpenShift
Format: Hands-on, scenario-driven lab
Key Technologies: Red Hat OpenShift AI (MLflow Tracing, Prompt Registry, LLM-as-a-Judge), LangGraph, Model Context Protocol (MCP), Grafana, and LokiStack.
Session Duration: 2 hours.

Event Description

In this hands-on workshop, you take on the role of a senior engineer at a mortgage lending company whose multi-agent AI system is failing in production without any visibility into why. Using Red Hat OpenShift AI’s integrated observability stack, you will instrument and monitor a real LangGraph-based multi-agent application end-to-end. Throughout the session, you will track metrics, logs, and distributed traces across five distinct AI agent personas and their Model Context Protocol (MCP) tool calls. By the end of the workshop, you will be able to diagnose distributed failures, trace agent reasoning paths across complex workflows, and run continuous LLM evaluations to catch quality regressions before they reach production.

Featured Technology and Products

  • Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform
  • Red Hat OpenShift AI (RHOAI) — including MLflow Tracing, AI Pipelines, and Model Registry
  • LangGraph multi-agent framework
  • Model Context Protocol (MCP)
  • Grafana and LokiStack (metrics and log aggregation)
  • MLflow Prompt Registry and LLM-as-a-Judge evaluations
  • OpenTelemetry-compatible distributed tracing

Agenda

Module 1 — The Agentic App and Why Observability Matters
Module 2 — Observability Pillars, Concepts, and Personas
Module 3 — Metrics and Logs for Agentic Applications
Module 4 — Tracing and MLflow
Module 5 — Agent and LLM Evaluations
Module 6 — From Development to Production

Lab 2: OpenShift Virtualization and Automation Experience

Abstract

Experience hands-on VM management with Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization. Learn to migrate, configure, back up, and network virtual machines alongside modern Kubernetes workloads on enterprise-grade infrastructure.

Agenda

  • Lab Intro and Overview - 20 min
  • Hands-on Lab - Part 1 and Demo Pills : Provisioning, Migration (MTV), Storage and Automation - 45 min
  • Break - 10 min
  • Hands-on Lab - Part 2  and Demo Pills: Networking, Templates, and App Integration - 45 min

Lab Overview

Join this immersive hands-on workshop to explore how Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization enables you to bring virtual machines onto a modern, Kubernetes-based infrastructure.
Participants will deploy and work with:

  • VM provisioning using custom Templates and InstanceTypes
  • VM migration from VMware vSphere using Migration Toolkit for Virtualization (MTV)
  • Kubernetes-native storage, backup, and disaster recovery workflows
  • Perform Day-2 configurations through Automation
  • Custom L2 networking, User Defined Networks (UDN), and application exposure via routes

This session demonstrates how traditional VM management activities can be unified with containerized application workflows using enterprise-grade infrastructure.

What You Will Learn

By the end of this workshop, participants will:

  • Create and configure virtual machines and allocate computing resources
  • Migrate existing virtual workloads from VMware vSphere using the Migration Toolkit for Virtualization (MTV)
  • Manage Kubernetes-native storage paradigms tailored for virtual machines
  • Implement backup and restore processes for virtualized workloads
  • Streamline VM deployments by creating custom Templates and InstanceTypes
  • Expose VM-hosted applications utilizing OpenShift services and routes
  • Configure advanced VM networking, including L2 mappings and User Defined Networks (UDN)
  • Understand how OpenShift manages virtual machines and containers together using Kubernetes-native tools
