Beyond the Playbook: Multimode Automation with AAP Orchestrator Hands-On Workshop
Tuesday, 1 December 2026 | 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Sydney | Australia
OVERVIEW
Most AAP customers already have a solid library of automation: job templates, workflows, event-driven rules, and often Terraform code, scripts, and API integrations. The gap is in the connections. Processes that span these tools still rely on manual handoffs, glue scripts, and separate logs.
That gap matters more as AI enters IT operations. AI tools and agents can now analyse incidents and recommend actions, but recommendations only create value if they can be carried out safely, consistently, and with a record of what happened. Organisations moving from AI experiments to production need a governed way to connect AI insight to real infrastructure action.
The automation orchestrator in Ansible Automation Platform is designed for this. It brings task-driven, event-driven, and AI-driven automation onto one workflow canvas, inside AAP's existing access controls and audit trail. You connect what you already have rather than rebuilding it.
In this hands-on workshop, your team will build a single workflow across the day. It starts with familiar job templates, adds event-driven triggers, and finishes by combining Terraform, Ansible, a REST API call, and a Python script in one run, including how it recovers when a step fails. These are the same foundations that AI-driven automation depends on.
What You'll Learn
- How multimode automation matches task-driven, event-driven, and AI-driven approaches to the problem
- Why governed, auditable automation is the foundation for using AI safely in operations
- How existing job templates, roles, and collections become reusable workflow nodes
- How to build workflows on the visual canvas or directly in YAML
- How to use Switch, Conditional, and Loop nodes for branching, repetition, and failure handling
- How to trigger workflows from real-time events with Event-Driven Ansible
- How to orchestrate Terraform, Ansible, REST APIs, and Python scripts in a single workflow
- How access control and one audit trail apply across every step
Who should attend:
